BioMallory Grace is the oldest of the three Grace children. She has younger twin brothers, Jared and Simon, and they live with their mother (Helen) and Aunt Lucinda Spiderwick at the Spiderwick Estate. Mr. Grace (Richard) had walked out on them a few years ago, necessitating the move from New York to their current home when Mallory was thirteen and her brothers were nine.
At that time, her brother Jared, when asked what Mallory would be when she grew up, would have answered, “An Olympic fencer. Or she’ll end up in jail for stabbing someone with a sword.”
Almost as soon as the Grace family moved into the dilapidated Spiderwick Estate, strange things had begun to happen. Soon Mallory and her brothers were embroiled in an adventure in the world of faerie that took them on a quest to befriend or battle different creatures in the world around them, that only they could see—at first thanks to a special seeing stone, then because a goblin named Hogsqueal let them have his spit (yes, I said spit) to put in their eyes.
In the end, they had freed a captive of the fairies, proved that Aunty Lucinda wasn’t insane, and strengthened their family.
Of course, this is only an abbreviated version of event. You’ll have to ask Mallory for the whole story, if she feels like telling it. Jared is the real storyteller in the family.
Mallory is nineteen, has a strong personality, and tends to speak her mind—sometimes with very little tact. She is tall and athletic, with long brown hair and a cheerful enough smile, when you aren’t pissing her off.
She is an Olympic grade fencer, and enjoys spending time outdoors.
